Expert Hardwood Flooring in Franklin, WI

Refinishing is almost always significantly cheaper than replacing. Sanding and refinishing your existing floors costs a fraction of the price of new wood materials and full installation labor, while restoring the wood to a like-new state. We only recommend replacement if the wear layer is exhausted or the subfloor has severe structural damage.

Typically, refinishing 1,000 square feet takes 3 to 5 days. This timeline accounts for dustless sanding, stain testing/matching, and the application and curing times of our high-strength finishes.

While you can technically stay in other areas of the house, we recommend staying elsewhere during the sanding and finishing days. This avoids foot traffic on active finishes, minimizes exposure to natural finish odors, and makes the project run smoother. We use dustless sanding and low-VOC finishes to minimize disruption.

Resurfacing (or a buff and coat) is a maintenance process where we lightly screen the top layer of finish to apply a fresh protective coat. This does not fix deep scratches or change the wood color. Refinishing involves deep sanding down to raw wood, removing all scratches and dents, and applying a new stain color and protective seal.

Pricing depends on your floor's condition, species, and total square footage. Because we don't have the overhead of a brick-and-mortar showroom, our prices for Franklin area homeowners are highly competitive—often saving you $1 to $2 per square foot compared to larger corporate flooring companies.
